The Community Women’s Orchestra welcomes all female-identifying musicians! We rehearse on Thursday evenings in Oakland, and our season runs from late August through May.
We perform three main concerts each year—including a fall “Friends and Family”-themed bash and a March concert in honor of International Women’s Day—and many of our members also participate in our chamber music fundraiser each June.
Although we don’t hold formal auditions, we do recommend an intermediate level (or above) of playing. If you are returning to your instrument after some time away or looking to brush up on specific techniques before jumping into an orchestral setting, we especially invite you to check out our free skills clinic sessions.
Whatever your status, we’d love to get to know you. Please fill out the form below or contact us for more information!
Winds and brass (to rotate on larger pieces)
Other players may be added to a waitlist and be called upon when suitable vacancies arise.
