Christine Kim

Christine has been playing music for as long as she can remember — learning the piano at the age of four and picking up her first violin at five years old. She is so grateful for the CWO community, to share the love of playing music together. When she is not practicing, you might find her climbing rocks or making handmade ceramics.

Nancy has played cello with CWO for one year and she is looking forward to her first year on the Board. Nancy was previously the owner of a structural engineering firm primarily designing upgrades for historic structures throughout the Bay Area and is now retired, enjoying music, hiking, baking, and spending time with her family.

Christine Krezel

Board Member at Large

Christine has been playing trumpet with CWO since 2012 and is excited for her first year with the Board. When she’s not playing the trumpet, she works for the veteran’s health administration as a social worker. A veteran herself, she spent 4 years playing trumpet in the Marine Corps band. In her free time, she enjoys exploring nature and spending time with family and friends.

Cathryn Bruno

Secretary

Cathryn Bruno grew up studying Suzuki violin in Oakland and has wonderful teenage memories of Friday Group Lessons in Berkeley and Saturday morning rehearsals with Oakland Youth Orchestra at Oakland Technical High School.  After a 20 year hiatus, CWO Cellist Emilie Bergmann invited her to a CWO rehearsal and Cathryn was surprised that she could still read orchestra music, and even in her old Principal Second Violinist role. She teaches high school English at Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley.

Joan Rosen

Board Member at Large

Joan has been playing violin with CWO for more than two decades and is a committed board member. She found a violin teacher in her second year in Yogyakarta, Java - riding her motorcycle to his house amongst taxis, rickshaws and buses - holding her violin across her lap and very carefully!

Amanda (Mandy) Gerrie

Board Member at Large

Amanda joined CWO in 2005 as a cellist and has loved being part of this community ever since. She grew up attending the San Francisco School of the Arts, where a passion for music and the arts took root early — and CWO has been one place where that passion has continued to flourish. Outside of CWO, Amanda is a Senior Policy Associate at a national nonprofit and enjoys hiking, travel, pickleball, and spending time with family and friends.
