🎶 Girl Scout Day 🎶
Sunday, November 15, 2026 at 4:00pm
Join us for a special Girl Scout Day with the Community Women’s Orchestra (CWO): a joyful celebration of music, leadership, and the power of women in the arts!
As CWO celebrates its 42nd year of engaging women in classical music, we invite Girl Scouts, families, and friends to experience an inspiring live orchestral performance and learn about one of the few all-women's orchestras in the United States.
Founded more than four decades ago, the Community Women’s Orchestra has grown from a six-member ensemble to more than 60 talented musicians and has presented over 100 concerts throughout the Bay Area and beyond. CWO takes special pride in championing women composers across the ages, bringing works by composers such as Clara Schumann, Fanny Mendelssohn, Jennifer Higdon, and Mary Watkins to the concert stage.
One of the strengths of CWO is the diversity of its members. Our musicians come from all walks of life and share a passion for making music together. Current members include business owners, graduate students, physicians, retirees, college professors, artists, stay-at-home moms, engineers, attorneys, music teachers, Girl Scouts, and many more!
Girl Scouts will enjoy:
🎼 Enjoy our annual Fall Family Concert, featuring an engaging live performance for audiences of all ages.
🎻 Learn about the different instruments of the orchestra and discover how they work together to create beautiful music.
🌟 Be introduced to three remarkable women composers who have shaped classical music throughout history and continue to inspire musicians today.
Whether your troop is working on a music-related badge or simply looking for a memorable outing, this event promises an afternoon filled with beautiful music, learning, and inspiration.
Bring your troop, wear your Girl Scout gear, and celebrate 42 years of women making music together!
We can't wait to see you there! 🎶
