The Community Women’s Orchestra will rehearse and perform the winning piece on their May 10, 2020 concert.
The winning composer will also have the chance to workshop her piece with CWO in case revisions are necessary.
A professional composer will attend one of the rehearsals to provide feedback on the music.
Eligibility
To be eligible, competition entrants must:
Identify as female
Attend high school (home school permitted)
Be able to attend at least 2 rehearsals (Thursday evenings February - May 2020)
Be able to attend the May 10, 2020 performance

Submit the score for an original composition for orchestra in PDF to:

(Parts will need to be supplied by the winning composer)
Guidelines
CWO is a full symphony orchestra consisting of a full string section, double winds, brass, and percussion/timpani. Harp and piano are also available. The instrumentation could be a smaller group (i.e. strings only, or single winds + strings) but should not be written for single players only.
