Skills Clinic

CWO is excited to offer a weekly free Skills Clinic for female-identified* adults hoping to get more involved in music!

If you are…

  • longing to play music with others, but need some guidance

  • seeking an accessible music opportunity

  • looking for an excuse to return to music after a long time away

… we want to meet you!

All sessions are held at Lake Merritt United Methodist Church (1330 Lakeshore Ave, in Oakland), and take place each Thursday evening 6-8pm. All skill levels and orchestral instruments are welcome!

Each week, we lead a drop-in group learning session to develop musicianship skills and refine common technique. We also schedule one-on-one time and touch base with participants individually to support more directed, personalized growth.

If you are interested in orchestra playing at some point, this is a great way to get in touch with our musical community. If you are just starting out, let us help you connect with peers and resources!

Check this page for updates and details about our upcoming sessions (below), or email us at clinic@communitywomensorchestra.org for more info!

* CWO is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for those underrepresented in classical music. We especially welcome transwomen and musicians outside the gender binary.
